Showing once again that the United States is the AdWords guinea pig, Google announced that as a result of its success in the U.S., Merchant Promotions will be made available in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia and India.
Merchant Promotions allow companies to stand out in Google Shopping by showing users discounts and specials that they are running.
Once promotions are uploaded to the Google Merchant Center, they are available through a variety of properties, including Google Maps for Android and the Google Offers app. Since the system uses specific redemption codes, tracking is available to let merchants know how each promotion is doing.
